How is it ensured that there’s no undesired overlapping of data and that the data is up-to-date? An automatic synchronizing process controls the data exchange between your local protel data base and the Cloud in accordance to certain defined rules.
This way, every change to the protel system data is logged and a respective message is sent to the Cloud. As soon as a new request is received (which can either be a booking request via the WBE or opening a menu in the Cloud Center) the data base is updated. All Cloud Center and WBE users will thus always receive the current data; constant data traffic is unnecessary.

Note In general, data is transferred only from protel SD to the protel Cloud Center and never in the other direction. |
When starting the WBE for the first time all data required for the operation are transferred from protel SD and can then be edited and managed in the Cloud.

Important! To ensure that the data transfer from the protel System Data to the Cloud runs smoothly, please make sure to activate the check box Show in Internet. This need to be observed for the following:
|
All data transferred from protel SD to the Cloud Center are updated as soon as a change occurs in protel SD. New data can only be entered in protel and are automatically updated with the next request. In a similar manner, deleted data in the protel SD are deleted in the Cloud Center, as well.
The fields “Name” and “description” are special cases. They are not synchronized after they’ve been transferred when the WBE is started for the first time.
The transferred data from protel SD serves as a work basis for the Cloud Center and can be edited as needed in the Cloud for the WBE.
Edited texts won’t be overwritten upon the next synchronization with protel SD.

Note If you still want all texts, including names and descriptions, to be transferred to the protel Cloud Center whenever changes are made in your PMS, please contact your protel Support. We will then make the necessary settings for you. |
All protel system data found in the protel Cloud Center are still edited in protel SD, however a lot of extra information can be added to the Cloud such as descriptions or images. This data includes:

Example Rate codes are still managed in protel SD. For a more attractive appearance on your website, however, you can add descriptions, terms and conditions, and other information. Changing rate codes in protel SD does not affect the entered additional information in the protel Cloud Center. |
In the background, the WBE also accesses other data in your protel system. This includes:
This data is displayed in the protel Cloud Center, however, nothing can be added and the data cannot be edited. This data can only be changed in protel SD and will be synchronized as described above.
Moreover, the protel Cloud Center offers options at various places to add even more data that doesn't exist in protel SD. Such additional information used by the WBE 4.0 for instance can only be edited in the protel Cloud Center. This includes:
This allows you to work with vouchers and coupons for example or to increase appeal of your room types and rates by additional characteristics.

When concluding the booking procedure, the guest enters his contact information into the WBE 4.0. This data is used in protel FO to create automatically a guest profile. The names of the fellow passengers, which are also entered for the reservation, are displayed as attached profiles in the tree view of the navigator.

Important! Work only with attached profiles and not with companions to add additional guests to a reservation! WBE can only transfer attached profiles. |
