Create XSetups in protel SD
When allocating protel Messenger, please add the following XSetups in protel SD for your messenger clients.
The XSetups function both globally and locally. Please enter the XSetups as desired or required by the respective hotel.
Activating Messenger tab
With the following XSetup, activate the Messenger tab in the protel guest profile:

Sending booking confirmations via protel Messenger
There are two different ways of transmitting booking confirmations via protel Messenger.
Option no. 1: Automatic transmission
As soon as a reservation has been saved in protel FO, protel Messenger sends an automatic confirmation of reservation via email.
It is necessary to store a valid email address in the guest profile in order to guarantee the functionality of the automatic transmission. The event based transmission rule protel FO - sending a confirmation upon reservation being created in protel must be set up. When entering the reservation in protel, the guest then directly receives an email which the hotel has saved in protel Messenger.
Option no. 2: Manual transmission
The transmission of the confirmation mail is triggered manually via the click of a mouse in protel FO. To do so, the event based transmission rule protel FO - Sending a booking confirmation from the text history must be set up. The email text is used from the stored message in protel Messenger. Unlike option 1, the selected Word template for the reservation confirmation in protel is converted into a PDF and sent as an email attachment. As a result, the hotel now has the possibility of sending reservation confirmations which contain a QR code as PDF attachments to the guest.
In order to send the confirmation mail at the push of a button, you also have to activate the [HTML email] button in protel FO. To do so, enter the following XSetup:

The hotel employee then opens the dialog Letters when creating a reservation and clicks the [New letter] button. Then a list of all of the templates for reservation confirmations is generated. You simply select one and click the [HTML email] button. It will only be displayed if the above XSetup has been executed and triggers the sending of the email in protel Messenger.
