  • The rack base rate code will be allocated to BWI's BAR rate. BWI's rate structure, many additional rate codes are based on the rack rate. Should the rack base rate be closed, the closure will also apply for all rates which are based on it.

  • Please do not forget to link the rates with BWI cancellation and guarantee conditions (see section about rate code details).

  • Rates which can only be booked in protel, must be marked as local rates.

  • Rate codes which are already compliant to BWI can be renamed, adjusted and continued being used.

  • Rate codes not used after the conversion can be hidden.

  • From experience, most of the existent rate codes in protel will need to be edited in order to be BWI compliant.

General Advice

Rate codes contain the following BWI specific fields in BWI mode:

Fields specific to BWI (UDFs) in rate codes

BWI Name of the base rate

If the rate code is based on another rate code, the name of the base rate code will be entered here (Column Base Rate Code from the Pre-Imp-Pack, Rate Plans tab).

BWI Send this Rate to CRS

Yes = The rate code will be used in protel and in the CRS

No = The rate code is bookable both in the CRS and protel. However, no rate updates will be sent because Best Western does not support this in the CRS.

local = this rate code is only in protel. Neither rate updates and guarantee conditions, nor availabilities will be transmitted to the CRS for this rate. Reservations with this rate code will be transmitted to the CRS as "HP" (House Plan) rate code.

Local rates (house plans)

[System data > Rates > Rate codes]

In addition to the rate codes and rate groups predefined by Best Western, each hotel can also include so-called (House Plans) which are local rates that are not sold through the CRS. Neither rate updates and guarantee conditions, nor availabilities will be transmitted to the CRS for house rates.

Local rate codes can be managed in exclusive rate groups.

This is how you mark rate groups for all local rates:

  • BWI send this rate group to CRS? = local
(local is used for rate codes which are only in protel. Reservations using local rates will be transmitted to the CRS as rate code "HP" (House Plan).

BWI rate codes

Create the die BWI rates in accordance with Pre-Implementation Package. The rack basis rate will be set as a normal rate code, the rates based on it will be set as virtual rate codes.

Please note!

  1. The rate codes must be mentioned as in the BWI CRS!

  2. BWI rate codes, which have already existed in the system, can be adjusted and then continue to be used.

  3. With virtual BWI rates, the check will have to be set for "own splits"!

  4. Because the virtual rate codes "HP" and "UZ" are actually wild cards, these two rate codes do not need to be added to the protel system data!
